43rd Finnish Summer School on Probability and Statistics

The mission of this traditional summer school is to provide one-week intensive courses on active research topics in probability and statistics, lectured by leading scholars in the field. The school is targeted primarily for doctoral students in probability, statistics, and related areas. Advanced MSc students, fresh postdocs and everyone in the research and applied field are welcome too. Poster

Venue

Lammi Biological Station (map) is located by Lake Pääjärvi in the village of Lammi, district of Kanta-Häme, 120 km to the north of Helsinki. The nearest towns are Hämeenlinna (about 45 km) and Lahti (about 40 km), from which there are frequent bus connections (www.matkahuolto.fi/en/,www.onnibus.com/home) to Lammi. Weather in Lammi

Attending the Summer School remotely

The  lectures will be recorded and broadcasted  via zoom, by using this link. Remote participation is free, If you are attending only remotely please register using this registration form for online participation.

Registration

Please register using this registration form by saturday 10.5.2025.  

The participation fee (30 €) is to be paid on location in cash or by mobile pay. It is expected that the accommodation and travel costs of Ph.D. students will be paid by the graduate school from their own Universities. If you are a Ph.D. student, please ask first from your supervisor or your local graduate school coordinator. The FDNSS organization can also award travel grants to cover the accommodation costs (but not other travel costs) of participants who need support. Virtual Poster Session

With 4 minicourses this year it won’t be possible to schedule contributed talks. Participants who are willing to contribute by presenting their own work, have the opportunity to do so in a “virtual” poster session. Submit title, abstract and slides of your poster presentation by using the registration form or by sending an e-mail to the organizer.  You can find  poster titles and slides from this webpage it will be fun to discuss each other posters at any time outside the lectures hours.  If you want you are also welcome to bring the printed version of your poster for display.
